One year after being the first Certificate Authority with offices in Brazil, GlobalSign crossed the threshold of 2400 clients in the local market.
Belo Horizonte, November 29, 2022 – GMO GlobalSign (https://www.globalsign.com), a global Certificate Authority (CA) and leading provider of digital signature, identity and security solutions for the IoT, is celebrating the first year of its Brazilian office presence. During this period, the company, which became the first Certificate Authority in the world to open a full-service office in Brazil, achieved revenue growth of 19% in the local market. Increased capacity for direct local support including transacting in local currency and compliance with Brazilian laws and regulations played a crucial role in GlobalSign Brazil’s performance in its first year.
Additionally, having a local team of professionals, providing services and supporting clients in Portuguese was one of the differentiators that made it possible to achieve success. Those features allowed GlobalSign to acquire 2400 new clients in the last year. Looking ahead, GlobalSign expects to increase its portfolio of services in Brazil, and seeks to continuously improve the quality of care and support for its customers.
“The Brazil office was opened not only as a business opportunity for GlobalSign to expand into Latin America, but also as an opportunity to acquire the robust high-tech talent native to the region, which will support our global operations as well as accelerate innovation around identity solutions,” explained GMO GlobalSign CEO Ichiro Chujo.
“As the leading Latin American economy, Brazil is vital to GlobalSign’s territorial expansion goals in the region. We see that our presence there has a positive impact on the entire region in terms of alliances, talent acquisition and expanded operational capacity. Opening a local office is a great help especially for delivering corporate- and government-grade security products, by being able to provide a customer experience not only in the same language but also in local currency, same time zone, culture and relationship,” said Lila Kee, General Manager of GlobalSign for the Americas.
Another of the company’s milestones in Brazil in this first year was achieving a Great Place To Work™ certification, with 100% approval from employees and a trust index similar to the best companies in the country. GPTW’s investigation placed GlobalSign Brazil in the “Accelerated” stage in terms of the Innovation Velocity Ratio (IVR), which measures a company’s organizational speed and agility, and its ability to provide an innovative environment for its staff.
“The potential for growth in this region is very promising. We expect the GlobalSign Brazil office to have a high growth rate in the coming years as well cultivate future leaders of the company that bring unique perspectives as we strive to serve a global marketplace!” added Chujo.
“The biggest challenge we had during our first year was around developing a local team that could absorb the demand that existed in a market as large as Brazil,” explained Luiza Dias, GlobalSign President Director in Brazil. “In addition, we wanted to maintain the quality of service offered by a Certificate Authority with 25 years of experience. Without a doubt, our direct presence in the country as a 100% Brazilian-based team opened doors for us, allowing us to take the leap we needed in this market. We have huge expectations for the future in Brazil.”
Among GlobalSign’s objectives in the coming year is the commitment to creating a culture of cybersecurity among Brazilian companies, professionals and consumers. This is to further citizens’ awareness of the necessary precautions people must take to prevent cyber attacks. In addition, the company will also be focusing on the continued digitalization of organizations and the impact that has on cybersecurity. GlobalSign also plans to focus on training future professionals in the sector, which will enable them to have better security tools.
